National Football Museum makes link with Baseball Hall of Fame in the USA

On 20 May 2009 National Football Museum General Manager, David Pearson, visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York.

He was greeted by Baseball Hall of Fame President, Jeff Idelson and exchanged gifts.

David Pearson commented: "I was so impressed by the Baseball Hall of Fame and its Museum. It opened more than 60 years before us and has become a place of pilgrimage for all baseball fans. I really think it can form a model of how we want to develop the National Football Museum in the future, in terms of profile within the sport. Baseball is the national sport of the USA in the same way that football (soccer) is the UK's (and much of the world's) sporting passion, so the two museums can clearly learn alot from each other. I enjoyed meeting Jeff Idelson and look forward to welcoming him on a return visit sometime in the future."
