Shadow Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt MP, visits National Football Museum

Kevin Moore, Director of the National Football Museum was delighted to welcome the Shadow Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt MP on his first visit to the Museum. Mr Hunt was in Lancashire at the invitation of Lancashire County Councillors Geoff Driver, Albert Atkinson and Tim Ashton and Fylde Borough Councillor, Simon Renwick.
During his visit the Shadow Culture Secretary met with his namesake (but no relation) Roger Hunt. The Liverpool legend and 1966 World Cup Final hero was at the Museum to present his international cap from 1966 for display.
While on a tour round of the galleries, Jeremy Hunt enjoyed chatting with local school children on a visit to the Museum about their football heroes. He was also very interested in the Museum’s latest temporary exhibition, a tribute to another England legend, Sir Tom Finney.
Jeremy Hunt left the following comment in the Museum visitor book: “What a fantastic monument to our national game – keep up the good work of inspiring the next generation of Tom Finneys!”
Kevin Moore said: “We are very pleased that the Shadow Culture Secretary selected to visit the National Football Museum during his time in Lancashire. It was a pleasure to show him around the Museum and to discuss the Museum’s progress and future plans”
